Terms of Service
Welcome to Kansei. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to your use of the Kansei mobile application (“App”). By accessing or using Kansei, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Using Kansei
Kansei helps you learn Japanese with a vocabulary Feed, a 90-day plan of daily lessons, checkpoints, pronunciation audio, progress tracking, reminders and a widget.
You agree to use Kansei only for lawful, personal purposes and not to misuse the App or interfere with its operation.
You must not:
- Attempt to bypass the subscription or gain unauthorized access to the App.
- Copy or extract the App’s lessons, words or other content.
- Use Kansei for fraudulent or unlawful purposes.
2. Your Data
Kansei has no accounts. Your progress and settings are stored only on your iPhone and are removed when you delete the App.
You are responsible for your device and any backups you choose to make.
3. Learning Content
Kansei provides Japanese lessons, vocabulary, example sentences and audio for study purposes.
We work to keep the content accurate, but language content can contain errors or simplifications. Kansei is not a substitute for a teacher or a formal qualification, and we do not guarantee any particular result.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
All lessons and the full Feed require Kansei Pro, an auto-renewable subscription offered monthly or yearly through Apple’s App Store.
When you purchase a subscription:
- Payment is processed by Apple through your Apple Account.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Any free trial is for new subscribers and converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before it ends.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple Account subscription settings.
Any refund requests are handled by Apple according to Apple’s applicable refund policies.
Kansei does not store your payment-card information.
5. Intellectual Property
Kansei and its software, branding, designs, illustrations, lessons, vocabulary and other App materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
You are granted a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Kansei in accordance with these Terms.
You may not:
- Copy or redistribute substantial parts of the App.
- Sell, rent, sublicense, or commercially exploit the App without permission.
- Reverse engineer the software except where permitted by law.
6. Privacy
Your use of Kansei is also subject to our Privacy Policy.
7. Availability and Changes
We may update, improve, modify, or discontinue parts of Kansei from time to time.
We do not guarantee that every feature will always be available or that the App will operate without interruptions or errors.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
Kansei is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by applicable law.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Kansei will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses resulting from your use of, or inability to use, the App.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights or protections that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer law.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time as Kansei changes.
When the Terms are updated, the Last Updated date at the top of this page will be revised.
