Kansei (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information Kansei uses and how it is handled when you use the app.
Information We Collect
Kansei does not collect personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The following is stored only on your iPhone:
- Onboarding Answers: why you are learning, your level, your daily goal and the companion you chose. These are used to set up your plan and Feed.
- Learning Progress: words you have seen or saved, lesson and checkpoint results, quiz history and the days you studied.
- Settings: your reminder time and widget options.
- Widget: the word shown in the Kansei widget is shared with it through storage on your device.
- Purchases: subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. Kansei does not receive your payment details.
How We Use Your Information
Information stored on your device is used to:
- personalize your plan and Feed;
- track your lessons, words and streak;
- schedule the reminders you turn on;
- show words in the widget.
None of it is sent to us or to anyone else. We do not sell your personal information.
Audio and Reminders
Japanese audio is produced on your device by the Japanese voice built into iOS. Kansei does not use the microphone.
Reminders are optional and scheduled locally on your iPhone. Kansei does not use push notifications.
Your Choices
You can delete everything Kansei stores by deleting the app from your iPhone.
You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple Account subscription settings.
